Valley Emergency Physicians is an Independent Partnership created by a group of dedicated Emergency Physicians to provide services to Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. We are currently 11 partners and 5 independent contractor associates. We recently increased our coverage in the ED and currently have full and part time openings for well-qualified EP’s. We have a policy of considering any interested contractor for partnership when they have worked with us for an average of 120 hours per month for a year, providing there is interest and the fit is good for both parties.

We are composed of several residency trained, BC or BE EP’s, and a number of primary care trained and boarded (or double boarded) career EP’s with over 100 years of combined EM experience. We have 24/7 double coverage in the ED with a very collegial tone to our environment. Our group is completely managed from within and each partner has an equal voice.

Many of us have been practicing at VBMC for over 10 years. Our low turnover rate is an attestation to the positive attitude of Hospital Administration towards the ED and to the commitment our group has to practicing high quality, cutting edge emergency medicine. Since becoming independent, our income is in the 80th to 90th percentile for EM with a good base and RVU-based incentives.
